Story

The journey of Globe commenced within the research department of Mercedes-Benz, subsequently evolving into an independent entity in 2021. Globe is engineering and producing  hydrogen fuel cell units for use in intralogistics vehicles, cargo ships while also supplying stationary power for facilities like radio stations, factories or server farms.
I played a multifaceted role in the project. Alongside the marketing team, leadership, and investors, we formulated a brand concept and established the communication and brand strategy. During the initial project phase, I developed the corporate identity, encompassing the logo, visual language, color palette, printed materials, imagery, merchandise items, pitch deck master file, as well as creating a custom typeface and the brand book. In the second phase, I designed the website with custom animations, and as the company grew, I provided creative direction for video creation, editing, interviews, and image films and photo shooting, besides crafted 3D objects an animations. In the third and most challenging phase, I led the UX/UI design of a technically complex and unprecedented dashboard app for the control, maintenance, and management of fleets of fuel cell units.

The brand is grounded upon the mission of changing the industry's energy source and incrementally shaping it to be carbon-neutral and sustainable.
The identity had to highlight the brand's offerings: pioneering technology built with precise German engineering and a commitment to the environment by providing zero-emission alternatives for building a sustainable industry without sacrificing economic viability. The logo combines two symbols: the water drop, representing the source of hydrogen, and the electricity symbol, symbolizing the result of fuel cell technology. The brand is characterized as progressive, focused, clean, responsive, fast, sustainable, and green. These characteristics are expressed through the use of colors, graphic elements, typography, layout compositions in offline materials, and interactions in online design artifacts.

Designing the custom typeface 'Hydro' amplifies the distinctiveness of the brand
The name 'Hydro' is derived from 'Hydrogen,' the primary source of fuel cell technology. With its sleek and rounded letterforms, this font strikes the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Its bold weight ensures that your messages are conveyed with clarity, making it ideal for various design applications. 'Hydro' brings distinctiveness to the brand by encapsulating the essence of technology and innovation.

Building a coherent brand image via printed asstes for appearances at trade fairs, startup events, and media coverage
I designed various printed materials, from stationaries, business cards, envelopes to sticker sets for the fuel cell units, onboarding package, brochures, posters, merchandising materials or elements of trade fair booths.The goal was to create a coherent, well recognisable image for the brand that helps to stand out and rise attention within the industry.

The site narrative grounded on scroll connected animations
The heart of the design is the scroll-connected animation of the fuel cell units. This animation serves to create a narrative that unveils the benefits and features of fuel cell technology, as well as our two product lineups: the XLP and the LSP series. The design heavily relies on a grid system and incorporates large images. At the core of the design lies the scroll-connected animation of the fuel cell units. The typography system ensures a clear contrast between headlines and body text, resulting in a very systematic layout, which is complemented by floating image sections and animated background colors, that makes the experience more dynamic. Moreover, the website provides a comprehensive resource encompassing the company's fundamental information, from introductions to career opportunities. The site has been built using Webflow, and the 3D content has been crafted with Blender.

A dashboard app that visualizes the usage, behavior, fueling, and analytical data of cloud-connected units, enhanced with predictive maintenance and error detection
The XLP units are utilized within forklifts, operating in large facilities such as manufacturing factories, logistics centers, and storage facilities. These units are cloud-connected, enabling them to provide valuable information regarding their behavior, electricity production, usage data, consumption, and operational time, as well as error detection. I played a pivotal role in conceptualizing how and what data should be displayed, conducting user tests with end customers, establishing a comprehensive design system in Figma, and creating the prototype along with all the app's intricate details. Throughout the development process, we collaborated closely with engineers, an internal data team, and an external development team, with special credit to Wondermakers from the Czech Republic, for bringing the app to life.

I directed the creative aspects of shooting, editing, and animation for image films, introduction videos, and interviews
Together with the marketing team and freelance filmmakers, we created a couple of videos to enhance the company's brand image. These videos included interviews, introductions, and image pieces. I not only provided creative direction but also took part in shooting, editing and animation.
